We will be leaving The Venue Car Park, Elstree Way, Borehamwood at 8am on Saturday 23rd October.
We will be travelling directly to our cycling/walking activity, so please ensure that suitable trousers and footwear are worn for cycling/walking and the journey. The scout shirt and neckerchief should be worn over a t-shirt to allow for changing on arrival.
The Scouts/Explorers will need to bring waterproofs, gloves, sweatshirt, a drink and a packed lunch in a small bag that they will take on the minibus/car. Other equipment should be packed in holdall and will be in the trailer until the evening.
Travel to the Peak District with stop at motorway services on the way
Cycling and walking on a track following the route of a disused railway line
Peak District walk with Stepping Stones and Caves
Travel back to Borehamwood
7:30pm – 8:00pm Arrive Venue Car Park (Depending on traffic, we will post updates on the Gradbach Farm 2021 Facebook site)
I suggest a maximum of £25, for use at motorway service stations, Alton towers and a café on the walk. Note that your child will need to buy their own lunch in Alton Towers.
If you would like the leaders to look after your child’s spending money, please put it in small change in an envelope marked with your child’s name and hand it to myself prior to departure.
Payments can be made at www.elstreescouts.org.uk/gradbach-farm/make-payment .
If payment is not received by 10 October 2021, Invoices from “Elstree and District Scouts” will be sent by email for payment online of any outstanding camp fees. Please contact me if you have any difficulties.
The site address is: Gradbach Scout Camp, Old Hall Farm, Gradbach, Quarnford, Staffordshire, SK17 0SU. Please phone me on 0754 383 0102 if there are any issues.
All participants must take a Lateral Flow Test 24 hours before the event, and upload their result, including QR Code to www.elstreescouts.org.uk/gradbach-farm/test-result.
This should be a picture of your declared result, and not a picture of the test. Information can be found on https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
There is a closed facebook group “Gradbach Farm 2021” where we will share information and pictures of the activities. https://www.facebook.com/groups/644734706492412
